The 2009 Pommard Les Fremiets is quite a bit darker and more structure than the Les Angles. Layers of black cherries, plums and spices are woven into the virile, structured finish. Once again the weight of the old vines in this parcel come through beautifully. Here, too, the wine?s freshness is terrific.

A very fresh mix of cool, airy and pure red pinot fruit, plum and blueberry aromas leads to rich and ripe yet beautifully detailed medium weight flavors that, like the Caillerets, are a beguiling melange of power and refinement, all wrapped in a punchy, balanced and driving finish. Excellent quality here.
