27 ares (two-thirds of an acre). 40% new oak. Barrel sample.
Deep cherry red. Rich in both fruit and oak spice, an oak sweetness to add to the depth of fruit. Big, rich up front but slims down nicely on the finish to give an elegant length after a big start. Savoury spice on the finish. A little bit oaky now but has the fruit to balance in the longer term. (JH)
