Jasper Morris MW: ‘Cuvée des Lilas’. A lovely full lemon in the centre, with a fresh but concentrated nose, harmoniously sweet ripe fruit as befits a Bâtard, with exceptional length, lemon touches inside the honey, yet lifted. The antithesis of a heavy, clumsy Bâtard-Montrachet. Some will adore this, some may want more power.
Cranberry and raspberry fruit. Pleasingly pure for Bourgogne level, with a very dry, savoury finish that leaves a little bitter herbiness. Semi-grippy tannins that are balanced by high acidity. Lots of satisfaction for the price. (RH)
