Jasper Morris MW: Cuvée du Saule’. Glowing fresh mid purple. Superb grace to the nose, magically juicy, then a firmer backbone behind. Some crunch here, only medium intensity, a wine to judge by its class more than its size. The fruit is ripe but not untidy, more in the fresh little red fruits register.
This is the stuff! Esoteric, earthy, expressive and elemental. Dried red fruits on the palate. Long, spicy length with an animal sort of muskiness about it. No uncleanliness – this is very much the terroir talking. (RH)
