Tasted alongside the 2005 and 2006, Cédric Bouchard contends that the 2014 Blanc de Blancs La Bolorée demonstrates the impact of a deeper root system, promoted by a decade of assiduous cultivation. Mingling scents of citrus oil, crisp green apple, Meyer lemon and fresh peach with nuances of rock salt, it's medium to full-bodied, tensile and racy, with a tight-knit core, superb concentration and a searingly chalky finish. Bouchard ruminates that he once thought that "Pinot Blanc was a waste of time," but he came to change his mind—and there's no doubt that the 2014 La Bolorée would change anyone's.
