Unwinding in the glass with a youthfully reserved bouquet of crisp green and yellow orchard fruit mingled with hints of praline, nougat and white flowers, the 2012 Brut Blanc de Noir Parcelle d'Aÿ La Côte Glacière Hommage à William Deutz is medium to full-bodied, deep and tightly wound, with racy acids, good concentration and promising structuring extract, concluding with a penetrating finish. This is the more austere and mineral of Deutz's two "Hommage" cuvées this year, and it is built for the cellar.
Pretty orchard blossom and black cherry notes are set in this elegant Champagne, backed by firm, well-knit acidity. The finely detailed bead carries accents of pomegranate, almond biscotti and blood orange on the finish.
