A blend of 75% Grenache, 15% Syrah and 10% a mix of other permitted red varieties, the 2020 Chateauneuf du Pape delivers scents of cherries, mocha and earth. It's full-bodied and reasonably concentrated, with an open-knit feel and gently tannic finish. It probably should be consumed within the next decade.
The 2020 Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsaut, Vaccarèse and Muscardin. The 2020 integrates aromas of strawberry and blackberry compote, crème de cassis, raspberry jam, cloves, mint and hints of tobacco. Muscular and expressive, it is full-bodied and polished, enveloped in velvety tannins and kept in check by lively acidity. The finish is distinctively savory.
Moving to the 2020s, the 2020 Châteauneuf Du Pape has a riper, richer style as well as beautiful notes of roasted garrigue, licorice, ground pepper, and both red and black fruits. Drink this outstanding, character-filled effort any time over the coming 10-12 years.
