The superb 2011 Hermitage Domaine des Tourettes boasts a dense purple color as well as abundant aromas of creme de cassis, licorice, forest floor and pepper, a meaty, viscous texture, sweet tannin and loads of fruit presented in a well-balanced, pure, full-bodied style. It should be reasonably drinkable in 3-4 years and last for 20-25.
A sleek style, with ample depth to the plum coulis, cassis and blackberry paste flavors, all carried by lively spice notes and racy acidity that lets the finish stretch out, revealing a lingering loamy edge.
