Raspberries and flowers and hints of citrus on the nose. Medium- to full-bodied with a tight and focused palate of fruit, with tight and firm tannins. Reserved and powerful. Great bottle. Try after 2029.
The 2019 Barolo Cerequio offers the warm embrace that is so typical of this great La Morra site, but with the extra tannic kick and bright acids that are typical of Roberto Voerzio's wines today. Bright red cherry fruit, kirsch, mint, white pepper and a kick of orange peel fill out the layers nicely. The Cerequio is the softest of the Voerzio Barolos I tasted, but it has plenty of supporting structure.
