A complex nose of spice box, tobacco smoke, cedar wood, red currants and cherries leads to a full-bodied, dense, dark ruby/garnet-colored Brunello with excellent purity and ripeness. There is moderately high tannin, but the wine is nicely balanced by its rich fruit and extract.
Gorgeous aromas of Indian spice and ripe berries. Medium- to full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. A bit closed still. Needs time. Antinori's debut Brunello.
The Pian delle Vignes's debut Brunello.
