The Bibi Graetz 2019 Colore Bianco is packed with peach, melon and poached pear. This is a soulful, Mediterranean wine that never follows any specify diagram or plan, thus underlining the carefully artisanal approach used in its creation. Colore Bianco is made with Ansonica grapes from the tiny island of Giglio, and the wine tends to show a slightly oxidative style with waxy fruit and nutty aromas. You get those here, but you are also reminded of sea breeze, marine salt and seaside bramble or dried herb. The wine has the mid-weight consistency to pair with shellfish or white meat. My bottle tasted even more delicate and fine when I came back to it one day later.
A dense yet agile white with sliced lemon, apple, peach and stones. It’s full-bodied, yet energetic and precise with minerals and hints of salt. A thoroughly complex white. Ansonica from a single vineyard on Giglio Island.
