The 2022 Gaisböhl G.C. opens as delicate as a Brauneberger Mosel Riesling, but in fact, it's a Ruppertsberger. It's intense but super clear, refined and finely flinty on the nose, with some orange bitters and perfectly ripe apricot aromas. This nose is rather slatey in its finesse and iodine flavors, indeed. Round, refined and extremely mineral on the palate, this is a full-bodied yet elegant and highly finessed Riesling with an intense, minerally tensioned finish and (dried) apricot flavors. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in November 2023.
The enveloping nose of pineapple chutney, King Alphonso mango and coriander seed pulls you deep down into this rich and mysterious dry riesling. Enormous concentration at the very clean, harmonious and silky finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Wild-fermented in large neutral oak. Vegan.
