The 2022 Reiterpfad G.C. is another picture-book wine from the red sandstone soils in this village, but here the mineral and iodine-inflected nose intermingles with an intense and finely flinty aroma of ripe yellow apples, quinces and mandarin rind. The wine is full-bodied, round and lush on the palate, very elegant, saline and quite generous, with a saline and still-bitter finish with fine tannins and tart citric notes. The finish is long and complex but needs some time to open up. 12.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in November 2023.
Stillness at dawn as there is still dew on the vegetation. The last flowers of the summer and the first fully ripe fruits of the autumn. Stunning interplay of flinty minerality, restrained citrusy fruit and very elegant acidity. Such a graceful finish that glides off in the direction of the distant horizon. From biodynamically grown grapes. Wild-fermented in large neutral oak. Vegan. Drink or hold.
