Aromas of fresh pear, toasted bread, peach and nutmeg introduce Niellon's 2018 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos de la Maltroie, a medium to full-bodied, elegantly satiny wine that's pure, precise and delicately chalky, with fine depth at the core and a nicely defined finish.
An elegant style, with aromas and flavors of lime blossom, apple and oak spice. There is less weight here, yet no less intensity. Fine, lingering finish.
Rather old-fashioned and almost artless – in a good way. Straightforward, backward and tight but not austere, with the promise of much to come. Chewy end.
