The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru La Garenne offers up aromas of white flowers, crushed mint, peach, pear and fresh pastry, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave palate of attractive amplitude and energy.
A cool, elegant and wonderfully spicy nose of mostly citrus, pear and acacia blossom is trimmed in just enough spice nuances to merit mentioning. I very much like the mouthfeel of the seductive and refined yet strikingly intense flavors that brim with minerality on the clean and impressively long finale. This is a complete knockout and one of the better examples of La Garenne to ever come my way. Buy it.
Pale lemon in colour. Not much detail on the nose, while there is a sturdy concentration on the palate finishing with a similar phenolic bitterness to the Trézin. It comes across as rather chunky after the Chassagnes. Drink from 2027-2032.
