Rich and dramatic, the 2020 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru En Remilly bursts with notions of pear, golden orchard fruit, beeswax, fresh mint, nutmeg and vanilla pod. Medium to full-bodied, layered and textural, with an enveloping core of ripe fruit, succulent acids and a long, expansive finish, it's the most gourmand premier cru in the range; and if it tightens up with another winter on the lees, it will merit a score toward the upper limit of my range.
