The Arlaud 2005 Morey-St.-Denis Les Millandes smells of ripe cherries laced with spearmint and lilies. In the mouth, it displays candied cherry tinged with cinnamon, and it finishes with clean, ripe fruit as well as a refreshing, and for Pinot rather unusual, mintiness, but also with a touch of roughness which may in part be traceable to its having been bottled (albeit un-pumped and unfiltered) a mere two weeks ago. That this lovely wine opens up considerably with a good shaking and takes on additional palate richness further supports that hypothesis.
