The 2021 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru has also turned out very well, mingling notes of sweet red berries and cherries with hints of rose petals and orange zest. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, it's pure and precise, with a bright spine of acidity and a more tensile, mineral profile than the richer, fleshier Clos de Bèze.
Cask sample. Racy, delicate, great precision! Real energy and drive. Lovely wine on every level. Very long and nuanced. Just explodes on the palate.
A crimson colour. The Bonnes Mares went through its malolactic fermentation early (in January) which makes the bouquet softer and more open. But this wine is generous, gregarious, and very classic in its wilder shores of Chambolle fashion. Wonderfully sensual, then a touch more structure to bring up the finish correctly.
