Offers ample black cherry, earth and smoky notes, but also a minerally essence, all focused by racy acidity. Shows fine length and a savory aftertaste.
A pungent nose exhibits notes of reduction and wood toast. By contrast there is good freshness to the impressively rich, lush and markedly round flavors that possess a firm core of slightly tough tannins on the mildly dry finish. This is not without a certain appeal but the balance isn't what it could be.
