Offers rose and strawberry aromas and flavors, with dense, astringent tannins. Shows excellent length, but this will take some time to shed the formidable structure.
The wood treatment here is more discreet and allows the ultra-fresh, cool and admirably pure aromas of dark currant, violet, spice and earth to shine. There is outstanding volume and intensity to the broad-shouldered yet well-delineated flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the tension-filled, highly persistent, robust and lingering finish. This is a powerful Rugiens, indeed there is even a touch of rusticity present on the structure yet it should round out if you have the patience to wait as this will definitely need time.
