This medium-to-dark ruby-colored wine offers beautifully ripe red and black fruits on the nose and fat, dense, chewy, and thick layers of delicious cherries, black currants, and raspberries. It is powerful, full-bodied, and possesses a formidably long finish. On reflection, I would have expected more concentration and complexity from a wine bearing such an illustrious name and vineyard.
Ripe, full-bodied wine with loads of personality. Has firm tannins and an earthy concentration that delivers a lot of tea leaf, tobacco, cigar-box, plum and black cherry character. Impressively long, flavorful finish.
