In honor of his daughter, born during 2000's harvest (this is a Lignier family habit, as their son was born at the same time two years before), Roman Lignier christened his 2000 Clos de la Roche as the Cuvee Lucie. Its intensely spicy nose reveals blackberries, cassis, and plum aromas. On the palate, this medium to full-bodied wine is rich, harmonious, concentrated, and deep. Loads of sweet black fruits are intermingled with fresh herbs and spices in its pure, well-balanced, expressive character. In addition, something Lucie will one day appreciate, this offering appears to be one of the rare 2000s with the depth of fruit and structure necessary for cellaring.
