Ripe red cherry and gentle woodsmoke on the nose are subsumed into a wonderfully fresh, bright nose. The palate is juicy, elegant, sculptured and precise. Testament to this domaine's exacting and meticulous approach. The finish is fine, fresh, pure, balanced and vivid.
There is just enough reduction present to partially blur the nuance on the ripe red and dark berry fruit aromas. There is equally good freshness to the even sleeker and brighter middle weight flavors that possess a velvet-textured mid-palate while exhibiting a saliva-inducing, persistent and well-balanced finale. This excellent effort just makes on feel like drinking it. In sum, this is a very good Nuits villages.
