The 2009 Vosne-Romanee is layered with dark cherries, plums, cinnamon and licorice. It is a fleshy, seductive 2009 village level wine, yet it has also maintained more than enough freshness to drink well for a number of years. There is plenty of depth and texture in the glass.
A very Vosne nose is both seductive and highly spiced as are the very suave, round and fleshy middle weight flavors that culminate in a detailed, intense and mineral-inflected finish that, despite the richness of the mid-palate, is actually linear in shape at the present. This is really quite good and worth considering.
