The 2005 Caiarossa is a rich, concentrated wine packed with dark fruit and French oak. The wine possesses good depth and persistence but the aromatics aren?t perfectly clean or as well articulated as I had hoped. The 2005 Caiarossa is predominantly Merlot, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller percentages of Sangiovese, Alicante, Syrah and Mourvedre.
JS Lots of dried dark fruits, with blueberries and blackberries on the nose. Full body with chewy integrated tannins and a licorice, stone and dried-fruit finish. Bright and delicious. Racy and fine. Shows tension.
