From old vines planted in the 1940s to 1960s on gravelly/sandy soils, the intensely yellow-colored 2014 Riesling Herrenweg de Turckheim fermented very slowly over 15 months and was bottled in August 2016. It has a clear, deep and flinty nose with lemon and some stony flavors. Full-bodied and well structured, this is a very elegant, perfectly round but dry and minerally-piquant Herrenweg. It has a clear and long, stimulatingly grippy, dry and salty finish. 12.48% alcohol.
A subtle wine with peach, apple and light melon character. Full and dense with bright fruit and an off-dry finish. Soft and friendly. Made from biodynamically grown grapes.
