Aromas of vanilla pod, citrus oil and wheat toast introduce the 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Plessys, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless wine, with a concentrated core of fruit, racy animating acids and a long, saline finish. This seems built to age with grace.
The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Plessys comes from soils with residual fine clay that tends to give body to the wine. Matured in half demi-muids and half regular barrels, it has a superb bouquet with fine delineation. Taut and focused, quite mineral-driven. The palate is well balanced with a lightly spiced entry, moderate weight, quite spicy in style with impressive persistence. This was only denied Premier Cru status because only three winemakers bottle this climat - everything else ticked the boxes. You can tell that drinking this wine.
