Cornin opted to bottle his 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières without filtration, but the resulting wine is a touch turbid. Offering up aromas of white flowers, pear, citrus oil and fresh mint, it's medium to full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with tangy acids and chalky structure, but it sacrifices a bit of precision due to its turbidity. That's a pity because the raw materials are more than compelling.
The 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Chevrières 1er Cru is the only cuvée that received promotion in this vintage. Raised exclusively in demi-muids, it has a beautifully-defined bouquet with refined orange pith, quince, saffron and light honeysuckle scents. The palate is well-balanced with crisp acidity, very cohesive with good weight, bitter lemon and orange rind towards the persistent finish. Great potential.
