There are just 320 liters of the 2013 Montrachet Grand Cru that was picked around October 4 or 5, and this barrel sample had not been racked (due in three weeks time.) Unsurprisingly, there is some reduction on the nose, but there is clearly immense power and intensity here. The palate is beautifully balanced with perfect acidity and harmony. There is a nascent effortless quality in situ: precision, precision and precision, all the way to the composed finish that lingers long and tenderly in the mouth. This is an awesome follow-up to the brothers' scintillating 2011 Montrachet...maybe even better?
