Organically certified wine. They are clear that this is in a premier cru but it does not seem to be listed in Silvain Pitiot's definitive atlas of Burgundy climats and lieux-dits.
Mid crimson. Sweeter and more red-fruited than the Clos de la Chapelle. With a thicker and creamier tannin texture. Generous, mouth-filling fruit but still fresh and lively. Chewy finish with a sense of the oak at the end. Needs a bit more time than the Clos de la Chapelle. (JH)
30% whole bunch vinification this year, whereas this is usually all destemmed. Dense purple, the nose doesn’t show the whole bunch unless to lift the super ripe fruit. Firm tannins behind for Volnay but considerable fruit weight alongside.
