The 2010 Gevrey-Chambertin Lavaux St.-Jacques is a big wine. An exciting melange of dark fruit, smoke, tar, incense and licorice flows through to the intense, opulent finish. I especially like the way the wine continues to gain breadth and volume in the glass. The Lavaux St.-Jacques was made with 75% whole bunches. Dugat used 100% new oak, some of which still needs to become integrated.
80% whole bunch. 100% new oak. Burly, autumnal notes on the nose. Light floral nose and very gentle tannins. Great texture. Savoury rather than sweet. Great refinement. So juicy!
