The 1997 Bonnes Mares is medium to dark ruby-colored, and offers beguiling aromas of red and black fruits, stones, and earth. It explodes on the palate, with super-expressive candied red cherries, as well as licorice and road tar flavors. This rich, dense, gorgeously structured, powerful, and expansive wine is masculine and broad-shouldered, yet opulent and hedonistic. Medium to full-bodied, complex, and harmonious.
